cafécollege Houston 

Located centrally at the Carnegie Neighborhood Library, cafécollege Houston is the one-stop-shop for college and career access assistance and information in the city of Houston. Since its opening in 2015, the program has partnered with Project Grad to help with college application assistance, financial aid guidance, job readiness, and much more.

  • College application assistance, financial aid guidance and FAFSA assistance, TASFA assistance, essay writing, scholarship search, career exploration and planning, ACT and SAT Prep, online high school diplomas, and workshops on academic excellence and leadership.
  • Workshops are provided for students and parents
  • Information and services are currently provided in three languages: English, Spanish, and Urdu
  • A Reconnecting Youth Program is offered to provide additional support and services to students who have an active case with the juvenile court system or the juvenile case manager at their school.
  • Program partnerships exist between the Houston Public Library, Municipal Courts, Project GRAD Houston and AmeriCorps to provide this program.  
  • Community Liaisons promote and provide information at on-site open houses, parent nights, or college days.  There are also Advisors able to setup times to go into the schools and provide support when requested.
