The Houston Public Library is pleased to welcome the new $350,000 Mobile Express technology outreach lab to its Community Engagement team. The Houston Public Library Foundation officially “handed over the keys” during the ribbon-cutting ceremony held on the Barbara Bush Literacy Plaza in front of the downtown Central Library at noon Tuesday, December 10, 2019.

Attending dignitaries included City Council Members Karla Cisneros and Martha Castex-Tatum, the Powell Foundation, Crown Castle, the Houston Public Library Foundation’s Board of Directors, and the Houston Public Library.

The new Mobile Express brings state of the art technology to serve Houston’s communities with free programs. The new Mobile Express can serve up to 24 participants within its computer lab. The interior classroom expands with external broadcast capabilities to serve an even larger audience.
